
JON WELLINGTON
Jon most recently spent the past several years at the Dallas office of the law firm Baker Botts. Previously, Jon spent over 10 years working in the federal, state and local tax arenas for public and private accounting firms: Deloitte & Touche (Atlanta), PricewaterhouseCoopers (New York), Dave Sobel CPA (New York), and Ernst & Young (Dallas). His clients have included many Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries, including oil and gas, finance, media, technology, entertainment, publishing, renewable energy, retail and insurance.
Jon has co-authored various publications, including “Major Tax Reform in Texas: An Overview of the State’s New Margin Tax” (Journal of Multistate Taxation, October 2006) and “Successor Liability for Texas Taxes in Private Foreclosure Sales - A Roadmap of Authorities” (Texas Tax Lawyer, Fall 2009).
Jon graduated from the University of Michigan in 1994 with a B.A. in History. Jon later graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1997 with a J.D. He is a licensed member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Jon was recently recognized as a 2010 “Outstanding Lawyer Under 40” by the Cardozo Society.
